Water Purification Design

Course: 25.401 - Interdisciplinary Engineering Capstone Design

Partner: Village Empowerment Peru Project

 

Partnership Description: Two students worked on sand filtration water purification designs to be implemented in remote Peruvian villages.  The goal of this partnership project was to improve the water supply systems in Peru. 

Project Description: Integrative Design Experience in Engineering.  Students worked on multi-disciplinary teams and applied their collective engineering problem solving skills on open-ended, real world projects.  This course may be used as a technical elective for all engineering departments.  In addition, this course may be utilized as a substitute for the culminating Capstone course in Electrical & Computer Engineering (16.499), Mechanical Engineering (22.423), and Plastics Engineering (22.416).  Students must be in senior status and obtain permission of the instructor.
